Essence of a Rose

by Michael D Nalley   Jan 15, 2012

My love said I must go now, don't look for me in tombs.
Look for me in your spirit, or in every rose that blooms
I will be with you always, for I let the Creator into my heart
Remember me for goodness sake, and we shall never be apart
It was at that exact moment that I learned what every wiseman knows.
No vessel, or heavenly body can contain the essence of a rose.

I have trouble writing long sentences and making sense of them. This however was excellent, the flow smooth, the rhyme unforced and wording picked with thoughtful perfection
