Feeder of My Insecurities

by Lioness   Jan 22, 2012

Did you know
that it is you
who feeds my insecurities?

So much that it
is more than my heart
can take

To you -
I'm a meaningless whisper
caught in the wind -
that seems to mock
my existence

So I will make believe
that what you said
in the end
was not what I heed

for if you had seen me in
that moment
and noticed that I was truly
hurt and embarrassed

I would break down;
the tears would pour and sting
my reddened cheeks

like they are now

you would then think -
that you got the better of me

a part which I don't believe
exists at all

Another emotion laden verse, presented with humility here:

    To you -
    I'm a meaningless whisper
    caught in the wind -
    that seems to mock
    my existence

    So I will make believe
    that what you said
    in the end
    was not what I heed

Almost saying I will bear your insults, regardless. Being broadminded certainly helps to avoid a conflict, and often win in adverse situations. I think the insecurities within certain people makes them attack other people, with the least of provocation. Seems like it is about a mother-in-law?

Wow this poem is so emotional and deep... I can see how this affects you, and I can relate. I believe words can stab a person and hurt them more than physical pain.. and you've penned this concept clearly in this poem.

    "To you -
    I'm a meaningless whisper
    caught in the wind -
    that seems to mock
    my existence"

    >> flawless... and so powerful!

Great job with this poem :)

Very sad and yet I got a touch of determination to not reveal what this person has done to you.
excellent wording, laced in emotional value.

This poem made me think that its all right to know our insecurities because if we know them then we can work our way into making them strong and pretty much get rid of them but of course it takes time but everything is possible.

I like everything in this piece. Specially how the reader can picture and feel the author's emotions as well as learning something from it.

    Amazing job.
