We All Make Mistakes

by Jenni Marie   Jan 27, 2012

Blackened eyes slowly swell
as teardrops cascade down flushed cheeks
swirling, circling, my very own whirlpool
Who knew,
Cupid's dart was poisoned?

Crippling affliction grips this tenebrous soul
As realization hits, you've become such an enigma
Our love was so passionate that it consumed, burned
But we did not know that it quickly burned down its home
Instead of raptourously warming its heart

If only we had realized we were slowly smothering
For neither of us could grow in such gloomy shade
Left with the knowledge that while we all make mistakes
Not only were you my biggest one,
But I to,
was your's.
