I never knew you

I've seen your picture a million times.
I've held the pearls you gave to my sister.
I've watched my father cry because he misses you.
I've wondered what you were like when you were jut a boy.
I've asked about your last few years.
I've heard about the cancer.
I've been nervous to ask the unanswered questions.
I've waited for answers that never come.
I've wished that I knew you.
I've prayed for you.
I've always missed you,
But I never knew you.

    Oh this is just heartbreaking!!

    I think you described an older brother you were too young or never were able to meet because of illness..?

    Just one thing:

    'I've waited for answers that never come'

    ^^ I think for this piece 'come' should be 'came'
    It just sounds slightly awkward otherwise.. Hmmm

    Another really great write!
