In Loving Memory

by Meme   Jan 29, 2012

Of all the different loves
your heart got to explore,
there was only one truth;
you knew mine was yours.

It's like you held the only key
that would ever open my heart.
Its been so long; I thought my
heartbeats would never start.

You gave my life a new meaning
but then you surrendered yours.
Leaving me like a wrecked ship,
drifting helplessly to find its shores.

I said goodbye to a million days
to a million beats; a million tears.
I would give away my life if for
one last time I could see you here.

A rebirth of your memory is
what my heart forever owes.
Until I have more yesterdays
than I have tomorrows.

    Awesome poem Hun

    A very sad write.

It is hard when we live by so many memories in our lives, well the ones that hurt us

I guess that makes us who we are

I really liked this...it made me think which is a good thing...my fav. stanza was the one about being shipwrecked, it really made sense.

Oh my gosh, what a sad poem :(....your ending line hit home for me. We all wish we had more yesterdays than tomorrows so we could change things or just revisit a memory..this was heart breaking but a great piece of poetry!
