Shadows

They bounce across the walk
as we slowly talk
memories of our life
played by an ordinary fife
forever within the shadows.

they streak across the stage
as our hearts begin to rage
with the fire within our souls
when the clock finally tolls
on into the night of shadows.

they smother our hearts
like covering the carts
as night fades away
theres nothing left to say
except that we are apart
because of shadows.
