Confession 7

Events and emotion follow the course of their own unseen logic. He decided that perhaps this outcome of their love was the most beautiful. Lovemaking had ended, but not the love itself.
He had once told her, "Love has to end in tragedy for it to be beautiful," and he now realized that this was a lousy line from a third rate Chinese film. It was full of smothering affection. Life has revealed many truths to him. He knew that the same thing seen from another angle can be just as valid.

This outcome between the two of them was the best, yet the outcome with "C" was the same...
Perhaps desire was the stronger emotion... Because of the constant physical contact, it was a greater concern to all involved... And so on his deathbed, it would be "A" who came running to him... Although we no longer had that desire to connect our two lives, but she could still use a finger with a ring on it to stroke down his eyes in a final gesture.
He knew that when the news of his death reached "C" she would be hurt, an he also knew that it would be her final hurt...

The first and last heartache in a persons life have the same significance...
