A question that we all ask at some point. You say all you have is a pen and paper so how can you change the world. Each word we write and speak changes the world in some way whether we see it or not. On a more technical note, all the lower case i's should be capitalized.

I consider myself to be the truth,
    a vessel of some kind
    owned by a heavenly power
which controls me like a puppet

^^I like this opening stanza. We are in fact a vessel and a puppet who are guided by powers beyond us.

With pen and paper in hand,
I close my eyes and write the unwritten
Words that will be passed on to generations
    after me

^^That is what poetry is. At times words just flow from us without our realization of what we are writing. There is serenity within this passage...liked it!

    Yet with all my visions,
    I still question my abilities
    Super powers have armies,
all I have is a pen and a paper
so who am I to change the world

^^You know they say that the pen is mightier then the sword. What is printed cannot be erased and it will the voice for the future. I liked this ending but it leaves the author with a doubt and the reader with many thoughts..excellent!

    Good write,

"all I have is a pen and a paper
so who am I to change the world"

Words can make a huge difference in people, so a pen and a paper as simply as they sound can make a difference and thus the one that writes them.

    Interesting question by the way.

Pen and paper create a whole nother world. In this world we create creative stories of our own kind. Our writing changes others oponions and can change the readers world.

If it wasn't for some form of writing we wouldn't have the life changing details of the past. We wouldn't know about history if we didn't have old journals of famous charactersof our past.

If people would listen to what writers have to say then think they have their hands up in the clouds too often, then their would be a better understanding.

A Poet is a natural born rebel. Your words can't change the world but I am sure they can make people reflect on so many things.Excellent piece.

I can relate to this one, well done. I used to believe that not only could I make a difference I thought I could change the world. Now I am having trouble changing my own ways, why should I, I rather stay true to myself

Such an emotional and inspiring read, an urge to help in any way you can while accepting your fate; born into such an era of ills and tantrums all over. Your poems are evocative and has a linger of truth about your rights and the will to serve humanity in any little possible way you can. Having such dynamic zeal to help is what you are; helpless to reach out but your words and thoughts is an appreciative medium to make changes in your thoughts. Good effort my brother, i admire your courage. SUPERB!

    Simply superb.

all I have is a pen and a paper
so who am I to change the world

Loved the ending. So much further could have been written but that would reduced the depth of this poem. Concerns beautifully expressed.

all the best and take care

Oh wow, let me take a moment to gather my thoughts. This was truly outstanding and your opening was pure brilliance that just somehow speaks true to any poet or writer that picks up a pen.

    "
I consider myself to be the truth,
    a vessel of some kind
    owned by a heavenly power
which controls me like a puppet

With pen and paper in hand,
I close my eyes and write the unwritten
Words that will be passed on to generations
    after me"

This is what im talking about, this is deep in all its artful form, as expressed throughout a long line of literature be it famous to unknowns like us, sometimes words speak louder than anything, your opening captures its reader with a forceful grip.

    "Yet with all my visions,
    I still question my abilities
    Super powers have armies,
all I have is a pen and a paper
so who am I to change the world "

Annd then you end it with a wow, those last two lines really do speak volumes, I don't think there is a simpler yet more beautiful way to put it, we all fight in ways which we know best, sometimes all it takes isa pen and piece of paper. well done. this is brilliance.
