A Day at the Beach

Sitting quietly with my thoughts
Listening to the rustling of the trees
Feeling the cool breeze brush against my cheek
Immersed in this paradise puts me at ease

Sounds of waves crashing upon the shore
Wishing to return here once more
A witness I am to the eclipse in the sky
Admiring the glow among the sunrise

The coffee cup I hold slowly warms my hand
While cherishing the feeling of my toes in the sand
I choose to stay til my heart is content
Because a day at the beach is heaven sent.
