Rocks To Pebbles

by alka mendiratta   Feb 11, 2012

Heat of the sun
Evaporating the water
Freshening the mighty earth
Transpiring from the
Enormous plant kingdom

Vapours rising up the sky
Getting cooler on the way
Condensing into clouds
Forming the droplets
Welcoming the rain

From hills transmuting
Into small streams
Emerging large streams
Fusing into the river
Expanding to the ocean

The course of water
Incessant flow
Making the journey
Full of obstacles
So smooth

Downhill traversing
Cutting rocks
Making uproaring sounds
Fetching the boulders along
Like a mischievous kid

Rubbing the boulders
Persistently
Moving forward
Like a youth
Bouncing at every step

Pebbles out of rocks
Settle under the sea
Expanding into the ocean
Like an old man
Calm and peace
