Your eyes
still waltz
in my mind,
embedded

yet I can't
recall
its echo.

SEPTOLET:

The Septolet is a poem consisting of seven lines containing fourteen words with a break in between
the two parts. Both parts deal with the same thought and create a picture.

    Bliss,*

You know every time I read the waltz now I'm reminded of you? I don't know why but I believe you used to use it all the time in your older love poetry and for some reason you managed to make it always seem beautiful, new and fresh. Again this is no exemption.

I became a little confused here but it might be because I'm exhausted. You said the eyes waltz in the mind and they were embedded yet you can't recall its echo? what is the 'its'?

Did you mean the echo of the waltz music played or the echo of the steps? When I here the word 'waltz' I focus on the movements of people rather than the sound but you must of meant sound because what else could have an echo? Sorry as I said exhausted but I do have a point to pointing this out...

This is something that can often cause trouble in short poetry styles, it's hard to depict something that flows with such ease and doesn't make you pause in a little confusion or I should say thought provoking ideas. This is especially with this style poem because you have to have the break between lines and the 14 words.

Again this was probably just me because this is a stunning little piece, I really loved the concept, it was bittersweet. I tried to write one of these a few minutes ago and my mind went blank so great job pulling this form off as nicely as you did.

Excuse the all over the place thoughts haha, I generally debate with my own mind in comment.

    well done!

I said on Britt's Septolet that I usually only like this form but loved hers,
I've found another one I totally love!!

This I think was beautiful, it's amazing how such short poetry can provoke emotions unknown,
I love the use of echo at the end,
and the title was really catchy too.

    Pleasantly surprised once again
