Dingy Dew Drop and City Streets

by Maple Tree   Feb 15, 2012

Cold, barren cement became my throne
Tattered tennis shoes teased remnants
Of day old snowflakes, frozen confusion sang
Hallucinogenic zombies walked by slowly
Eating my cigarettes with their thirsty eyes
Authentic desires ached within a pin cushioned heart
As stale coffee dazzled my dehydrated humor
I'm a fallen star, caught within a noon day sun
Lost between night and day, dew drop eyes
Tells a story of a ritualistic woman, getting older
Placing her white flag on a dingy city sidewalk
Watching traffic drive by, singing her life song....

I'm amazed! This was excellent, As always. :) You painted your picture so well, I could almost taste nicotine or feel the chilly air on my skin. You've got that talent! Wonderful write! I like this.

I'm out of words on what to say about this fantastic piece. It keeps one going on and on, unfolding the next daily ritual of the day for this sophisticated lady. I like the theme, the poem centres within.

    KUDOS!!! Excellent piece. :)
