Ungreatful

by You Can Speak But I Can Rhyme   Feb 16, 2012

I looked to her for comfort,
little solace when i was alone...
little did i know who i worshipped..
was nothing but a heart of stone...

my forlorn and bruised heart...
was taken by your beguile...
and though you gave me pain for life....
you made me happy for a while...

the pain is excruciating,
a little curse that i have to live,
and though you deserted me when i wanted you the most,
i'll still have the heart to forgive..

my love, it meant not much to you...
than the flowers that you strangled beneath your feet,
and though you gave me a scar for life...
i'll give you victory, and take defeat...

you scorned at me, and mocked me more.
till my eyes were flooded with tears...
and though you disgraced the love i bore...
i'll still drive away your fears,

be not deceived, to think...
that i do dis to win your favour...
what is left of me..
is mine alone...
its not for you to savour...
