2 Years To Say

by You Can Speak But I Can Rhyme   Feb 16, 2012

Your actions have spoken,
I am at last forced to write.
You started fading slowly,
My tears, I'm trying to fight.

Our memories are attached,
To this velvet heart.
You can take all our dreams,
And you can split them apart.

We won't need them again,
Or rely on them evermore.
Our choices - we've never made,
devoid of each other, before.

We have faced obstacles,
We weighed down on the way.
Such a little heart to heal,
But a very large price to pay.

I've always known, clandestinely,
How many tears I would weep.
One for every year we spent,
While that's two, to say goodbye.
