A Night To Remember

by Eminent Bard   Feb 16, 2012

It was one starry night
With all the wonders in its sight
When a momentous instance took place
Between two souls united from different ways

Luxurious chandeliers hanging beneath the ceiling
'Twas a great place for all of these beings
Perfectly good looking people strolling down the hall
Each exceedingly excited for this one grand ball

The maestro then waved his stick
So started the melodious music
Couples dancing like princes and princesses
Oh how this scene was filled with happiness

But beyond the jocund scenario
A lady of glamor steals out the view
At the table near the corridor where she stays
With her dazzling petticoat she can hardly sway

She was a lady of beauty
Yet to this, she doesn't really agree
Her eyes so clear and lips in crimson hue
The curls in her hair that just naturally glow

But for this tale to fulfill
A man of noble was there as well
At the latter side where he stands his gaze
Waiting for one like Cinderella to leave a trace

He was a man of charity
Yet to this, his heart can hardly agree
His chest so broad and skin dark yet fair
The way his eyelashes meet when he blinks solemnly rare

The moment has come for them to see
How wonderful the possibilities that are ought to be
So they let a small space in their minds
To experience something that's one of a kind

This noble man looking for a head-turning sight
Fin'lly found this lady of the night
Asked for her hand unflinchingly
With evident looks of curiosity

This beautiful lady bewildered by this man
Unmindfully stretch out her gentle hand
Like letting her being be discerned by him
On what are the feelings from within

As their hands fit closed together
So goes the couple that's unlike any other
Each of them feeling like in trance
In that one grand idyllic dance

The music played along with the shining lights
But time roared as the clock strikes midnight
And the lady just stopped and ran momentarily
Seems like she's dispelled from it magically

The man, confounded by the twist of events
Couldn't figure out where to the lady went
It's like a bubble so colorful when first blown and released
But moments later just popped off with the mist

If to the tale of Cinderella will this be similar to
Why didn't then the lady leave a shoe?
Woe to the man for what he can only consider
Was that moment from a night he's ought to remember...
