Breathe of Remorse

by Yakori bint Muhammed   Feb 17, 2012

14th January, 2012.

Dwelling in a deserted commune in the valley;
lost souls converge pleading,
under the huge palm tree at dusk;
seeking the glory of the sparkling stars,
to brighten their forsaken lives.

Weeping profusely, tears roll down in drops of blood;
to sanctify their ruthless deeds of grim,
that afflicts a burning curse to sapiens.
The moon, black with patches frown in rage;
at thier innate impulse that demurs their conduct.

At dawn, the day rises with a schorching aura;
without a breeze to comfort their toiled minds.
Always distraught in the confines of the land;
no empathy showers their frenzied plight,
giving life to their grumpy phase of chase.

Blazing, sun comes with a scorn to roast;
cruel spirits of the fraternity.
Adamant to concur their greed for flesh;
the sun rays furious dries up the stream,
that consumes their offers for deities.

Deprived of mercy.
They scamper like rats;
in search for refuge,
from the Most-Forbearing,
to cleanse sins full to the brim like an ocean.

    The title caught my attention.

    Breathe of remorse,
    I found it really powerful.

    Just one minor thing that I found while reading.
    There is a small typo

    "that consumes thier offers for deities."
    Thier to their if I'm not mistaken.

    Overall, enticing piece.
