Born Again In February

by Maple Tree   Feb 18, 2012

Tapping out syllabic rituals
crossing words that mix and match
dressing up a sonnet fit for a king.

Eloquently searching for a sultry adjective
to inscribe my ever loving desires
yearning to hear a simple phrase from his lips.

speaking languages through silhouette's, taunting
floating crossed cemented clouds filled with a vodka twist
he became a poison that hallucinated my fantasy's.

and then suddenly....

I stole the sun, stuffing my pockets with sunbeams
tossing the moon aside for one glimpse of your shadow
Held the ocean far and wide, fingertip to fingertip.

Embraced our mothers nature In a single daisy
leaving a trail of petals, all for a heart that I penned
In a sentimental diary, a few years back In February.

The twentieth day, second month, tenth year of the twenty first century, was the day, I stopped writing broken words and started living forever and always with you....

This is just...BEAUTIFUL! I see the first half of this verse as you yearning for a love you have yet to find and wondering if you ever will and then WHAM! it comes along and is everything and more than you ever imagined. So may beautiful words and images within this poem...I just find it impossible to choose a favourite.
