It all started about 4 years ago
I was feeling lonely & didn't know where to go
You appeared & made everything fade away
Who would've thought we'd be here today

It started with some small conversation
I vented to you every single frustration
You became my sounding board
And soon you were the one I adored

But a thing called distance drove us apart
I never thought you'd remain in my heart
We both moved on with our lives
Losing you felt like being stabbed with 100 knives

You were always there in my mind
I didn't realise then that I was so blind
There was a reason I could never forget
And I knew I couldn't live with anymore regret

So I decided to try once again
And when I did your happiness you couldn't contain
It honestly brought me the biggest smile
I hadn't felt happiness like that in quite awhile

We hit things off like nothing had changed
The feelings I was feeling were new & strange
You captured my heart with your cheesy ways
We could talk for days upon days

Finally after months of persistence
We decided this love could go the distance
With that we finally decided to meet
Even if it was on a busy city street

All it took was one smile & a kiss
My heart felt like it was in complete bliss
Many date nights & visits later
My love for you will never be greater

For now I know I've found my soul mate
We've even set our wedding date
Sometimes things are just meant to be
