Alone and alive
a thresh-hold of hope
a boy and a girl
learning to cope
life on the streets
not all its cracked up to be
but you would have done it too
if you were me

this life didn't come easy
each day a new test
trying to prove
I'm above all the rest
in my small little town
they call it Belmar
a glorious hell
will only take me so far

so back to the story
of girl and the boy
how every secret held
and what they annoy
alone in the streets
learns how to survive
wishing and waiting
wishing they died
a sad little twist
how there barely alive
but the magic in it
when the girl had spoke
said shed give up everything
for the boy who was broke

they didn't need things
like a big house with a pool
and it didn't help either
when they dropped out of school
but they did have there love
for them that was enough
and after all is said and done
they were both built pretty tough
