The Vow

by White Orchid   Feb 26, 2012

I love yous were given
Only they lacked true meaning
As if substituting bread for water
Nothing substantial to base one's life upon

I thought I knew what love was
But what did I really know
Living my life in shadows without hope
Searching for a light to lift me up

Drowning myself in my own sorrows
From this captivity I finally found release
Everyday that passes makes a better tomorrow
Each tick of the clock passes with ease

Long dreary days are a thing of the past
I'm living joyfully in the here and now
Because I've found the one who'll make it last
Both of us waiting to become one and to make that sacred vow.

Hey girlie, this was beautiful. I like how it broke from your usual writing style...sometimes writing something totally different from norm can lead to the most creative writes :)
