Watching the pale star glitter
I'm overwhelmed with passion
Who would have ever known
I could feel so much compassion

As the star twinkles down
I pray he is listening tonight
For I'm here making one simple wish
And professing my love outright

Teach him right from wrong
And guide him on his way
Sometimes he'll need a helping hand
Don't let him go astray

Take care of my beautiful boy
Be sure to always treat him fair
He deserves everything he wishes for
