Eagle

by Daisy if you do   Feb 29, 2012

Once upon a moon
in a different time
and place
I soared above
mountains, plains,
and prairies.
A time when
red men
would tuck my feathers
in braids of braves.
West winds
occasionally ruffled
my plumes
during the onslaught
of Winter.
We sought trees
with strong limbs
for shelter
from harsh cold
and rain.
It is there,
where I nestled
among boughs unaware
of my future
as an eagle
or anything else.

Challenge to write a 25 line poem about who we think we were in a past life.

"Unaware of my future as an eagle or anything else" - I love the close of this poem, in relation to the topic. A unique piece that had me gliding above the mountains as I read. Another wonderful piece.
    All the very best
    Ben.
ps You have the honour of now being placed in my Favourites!, lol
