At the Heart of the World

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 29, 2012

I see headstrong summits arise
from the dabbling rock,
all in the distance.

If I was to be without you,
I would be another precipice
at the other drop of the horizon
and I would be heights away
from running a new pulse
with you.

I'm no longer glancing
down from the cliffs,
I have been been brought
into the clear reality of
your proximity....and there is
no background,
we are the foreground
of this real, exhilarating world-
the sand urging us
toward the wind.

The life of nature
make us even more
alive.

And without you,
I wouldn't be feeling
the heartbeat of the sea
or the energy that spring
brings,
whisking our fingers
to try to capture the sun's
smile.

All things possible
in a world with you.
