Today was a very special day,
I learned to laugh, have fun and play.
I grew up too quickly I couldn't see,
All I was taking away from me.
I know it's to late to turn back,
A kid's life is one thing I now lack.
I should've listened to what I was told,
Instead of wanting to grow old.
I wanted to walk in very big shoes,
I didn't know it would make me lose.
I learned to love myself today,
I learned I need to let God work his way.
I learned I shouldn't live in the past,
Because my life will be gone real fast.
Today I learned with lots of tears,
That most of the truth has become my fears.
I learned to let my feelings show,
And that it's not easy to let loved ones go.
