The Thorns of the Rose

by Michael D Nalley   Mar 2, 2012

Mended hearts are sewn
while seeds are sown
where cotton is grown
in the famiy genus rosa

Cotton spun to make thread
Where the Ghost is not dead
Empty souls are yet feed
in the path of the dolorosa

Perhaps a pain will cease
A saved soul will find peace
as forgiveness has to increase
by the path of the dolorosa

I like the connection how the passing of a rose can be the catalyst behind a mended heart and how you intertwine that concept with the rose. this poem has a grace and elegance to it that goes unmatched.
