Another Tempest

by Poet on the Piano   Mar 3, 2012

It's like an orchestra of my nightmares,
my throat feels numb, close to failing
and I shake so suddenly that I must
walk the floors-
my heart is still, yet my frame is
violently moving.... fingers climbing
in the moist air to try and summon
you.

I wish the rocking of the earth would
slow, and I could reach you and
sigh into your arms.

And the sirens are barely audible
amongst the pounding of rainy footsteps,
and the winds that I wish you could travel on,
just to be safe, with me, and no longer
away from the kiss I've saved.

    This piece is so beautiful....

"I wish the rocking of the earth would
slow, and I could reach you and
    sigh into your arms."

^^such an elegant stanza... To me this stanza ties up the poem... I adore poems that dig deep within emotions...but then somewhere within the poem you have what I call a high light stanza... where it captures the poems magnitude... I really love this poem....
