The pain won't subside,
It's getting harder and harder for her to hide.

She cries in the dead of night,
Knowing her tears are far from out of sight.

It breaks her heart,
But she knows she'll be better off once they're apart.

It hurts, that little place in her chest,
She should have known he was just like the rest.

She has nothing to gain,
So she has become content with the pain.

She just wanted him to be there,
Just wanted someone to care.

She lays her head to rest,
Knowing she'll never be the best.

The pain is worse when she's trying,
It'd be less painful if she were dying.

It's night after night,
Just the same old fight.

In her head the words keep ringing,
All the things he said with so much meaning.

He didn't have to say it, she already knew,
He no longer needed her in his life, he has found someone new.

And it's the same old days,
Just passing away.

No more asking herself how,
But she'll get over him, somehow.
