God's Gift (Terza Rima)

Please wipe those tears away from your weary eyes,
for each tear drop that trickles down your sweet face
will burn your soul's flame, like his painful goodbyes.

Don't let the sorrow you're inhaling replace
the substance you should be receiving to live.
Each breath, a gift from God, fills the empty space

Find it in your heart to let go and forgive,
it will release your pain and you'll be set free
to be given a chance for you to relive

The future is yours though you may disagree.
I pray for happiness, your heart can't foresee.

    It's only now that I'm able to match poems with poets. I remember reading this when Larry posted it and thinking whoever wrote this is a very wise person....It's hard to forgive but there is such relief when you finally do.

    Loved it so much Liz!

    I was moved by this and I found the ending to be espically sweet as so many of us are hoping for the good and happiness our loved ones cannot see for themselves.

    Forgiveness is a gift .....I agree . ' It will release the pain' /replace negative emotions with this 'gift'........the title reflects throughout this poem and you managed the form well. :)
