To write or not to write?

by Chelsey   Mar 9, 2012

Gallivanting out of the window
are dreams that came from my heart
Stress is walking through the door
and now entering my immoral mind

Street lights on, reminding me
I spent the whole day thinking
Darkness is here and the time has come
to lash out in poetic scrutiny

Shall I unleash every twisted mentation?
Or bottle it up and persuade myself
that no line of thinking ever existed?

I lay in the arms of a king size bed
glaring at a number 2 pencil
and a 80 sheet notebook
posing together on my nightstand

After finding the place
of divine intervention with myself,
it has brought me to this very moment...
To write or not to write?

    Hi Chels :)
I loved that you used the word Gallivanting...we dont see it much and I was excited to see it used in your poem. I too have felt this way and my only weapon or friend a piece of paper and pencil...I can feel your pent up emotions screaming to be unleashed...and released thru a poem. I loved the poem alot, well done Chelsey!

Oh many times I have felt like this and not known what to write. I guess you found your inspiration.

    To write or not to...?
That is a question which always comes to our mind. I don't ask myself if I had to write because I love to make it come spontaneously!

Only one time, I wrote because I felt I should, the poem was called 'inspiration'. There was a time when I lost it....

Anyway, this piece is beautifully worded, and lived! Great.
