Free Me

by Poet on the Piano   Mar 11, 2012

You are approaching
in measures that cannot be mimicked
or stopped; throughout this wait
my heartbeat continues to play
at the sounds of your arrival.

Your keys are openings
to my soul,
I fear that without you,
I would be a poisoned sun
or a trapped bird
trying to reach up
to no avail.

Keep coming towards me,
forget about the clock watching us,
and let words speak in silence.
For your eyes, your white lips
play me something from a dream.

And I need you to keep me safe
from the onset of a new
fearful beginning.

To be this dependant on something or someone else is very dangerous..unless it is God.

    Well written, MaryAnne:)

This IS amazing though, wish I could put how impressed I am into better structure, maybe I'll come back to re-word this, but for now, just KEEP writing!! You've got talent! :D

It's like a bird yearning to be free... to fly beyond the inner cages.
    Lovely piece, too!
