Who Thought

by MizDarkRoyalty   Mar 12, 2012

It was a cold November day,
it was a sickening hot July,
staring at her feet
as she hustled
to school.

It was quiet, on the streets...
in the halls.
She sat at her stop
waiting for the arrival
ready to go.

And out of no where, she felt,
the first blow.
Right in the cheek
she felt her face heat.

She was blinded and her attacker was
unknown.
"Why?" was all she could think.

She tried to dodge
as the kick impacted her chest,
no luck.

She tried to run,
but there was no escape.
She was hyperventilating, trembling,
panicking.

Cold-wet ran down her cheeks
from where her head was knocked around.
She could hear the laughter, the snickers,
someone was enjoying this?

She lay helpless...too drained
to fight back.
She was yanked back into reality,
attempted a stumbled escape.

When she felt the fenal attack,
she felt it deep in her gut,
a knife, in her back.
Who thought...
words...could do so much damage.

So sad, happens almost every day.
You just have to have hope, I'm agnostic. So I don't really pray anymore.
I live in a ghetto neighborhood. This can happen anywhere. 5/5
