An old photo

by Ole Carsten   Mar 13, 2012

Revisiting my family, by looking at old photos,
missing the best part of me, all their kindness,
children see life in frog view, upwards,
maybe that is the essence of childhood.

Now we take hundreds of frames,
But we lose them quicly again,
Rushing to the holliday, birthdays, nameday,
Rushing, rushing, no time to lose, yet all frames are lost.

Longing back to greater times, sitting in a small box,
Beside a warm woodfired stowe, with my grandmother
Cooking, chopping and kissing all, securing me
All returns by on snapshot, not even a good one.

Great poem. I love looking at old photos and thinking about the past. I love how you used frog view to say looking up because they are so small.

    Great poem

I agree with Abed, seems life as a child was full of love, and as we grow it's a matter of trying to make a living. No time no time

I enjoyed this Ole nice poem indeed
