Jazz records

by William J   Mar 13, 2012

In bed-
not writing for anyone, just writing.
The moon is non-existent
the stars are swept under the carpets
and I'm headed the same way.
I can no longer think straight-

set my soul to 33rpm
put on another Jazz record.

-it's 2:03am-

I've got the blues for broken poems
all fragmented onto sheets
on an ill lit desk.
I've been left to make sense out of echos

After all, isn't that what a poet is meant to do?

-It's 2:09am-

I now truly do feel deader than a dead butterfly.

This is a lovely poem. I like the elngth and the way you drew the reader in from the first line.

The best thing I like in the poem is the tension you built with your style and words, especially recording the time.. It feels that you are weary.. maybe subtly.

    good!

The poem flows well just like Jazz music would. I like Jazz, it can be soothing and relaxing.

I love jazz, and the blues. Blending the music with the poetry is so natural. I liked the theme, the flow, wording was excellent and the format was eye catching..
    Good write
