Slugs

by beapolkadot   Mar 13, 2012

My words are like a whisper here
They thump up down up down
In silence they would not be heard
Nor in the crowd I stand
I follow a beat like you
Follow the street to
A path we can not find

We move like slugs to unknown roads
Afraid of what we'll find
I creep and crawl behind your step
For I am not in charge

You might see me bow down on knees
to your highest prestige
And I'll still whisper silent pleas
To notice my frail form

As I follow you down this broken path
You think you know so well
And we'll get lost, but you won't fret
Because this was what you had meant
To lose ourselves down here

So I'll have to take your hand
I have nowhere left to go now
