Garden of the Night (Terza Rima)

Garden of the Night (Terza Rima)

Darkness enfolds me within a beating breath
silently weaving memories upon time,
teetering upon edges of life and death

And as midnight's mournful moon travels in chime
vines of dreams entangle scarlet shadowed thorns
as bygone chains jangle of love's bitter climb

Yet my soul, in the stillness of the night mourns
the trusty bough that once branched with leaves of gold
now left to bleed a silence that whips and scorns

Yesterday may shiver leaves brittle with cold
yet tomorrow brings promise worthy to hold

    Luanne,

Been sometime! This is such a haunting yet enchanting piece you have written. Nicely flowing in the difficult constraints of the form.

    Beautifully penned.

    Warm regards,

Always such a pleasure to read a poem by you, Luanne:)

Your formatted poetry is never forced, so cleverly crafted and all words adding to the message.

Yesterday may shiver leaves brittle with cold

As long as we are able to have this hope, we will keep on striving to make ourselves and our loved ones a beautiful life:)

    Well done!

I can feel the pain in depth within the lines, though darkness seems to have stolen away love and all
hope seems lost, tomorrow comes with bliss.
wow I love the poem, the power of the words, the gloomy image it portrays and the hope it conveys.
