BIRTHDAY POEM

Today is a very special day
It is not my parent's anniversary
Or my brother's monthsary
Today is my 10th birthday.

Will I receive gifts today?
A toy,telescope or my favorite candy
Waking up is hard this early,
It will be a long day,so then I'll pray.

Lord, can't wait till I'm old enough
They say I am just a cub
I want to drive a car and drink in a club,
I want to know how it is to fall in love.

I'll be sitting beside my crush today
Will she give me a kiss in the cheeks anyway?
One thing is really going to happen today,
My teacher and classmates will sing a birthday song for me.

Will I be happy today?
This question keep taunting me
What is more important than having a family?
Or eating my favorite spaghetti?

A year older would mean I'll be more tough
I'll have more smiles and more laugh
If I'm hurt, don't want to give a sob,
Even though I could feel a painful throb.

I am finding meaning of life today,
I'll be happy today-
Because today is a very special day...
IT'S MY BIRTHDAY.
