Death Hangs Over This House

by Anna Stephens   Mar 16, 2012

Angels of death walk these halls
Waiting, waiting in unholy dark
Two souls taking their final breaths
Before this earth they do depart

Family heirlooms on the mantel
Yard sale tags all pre-attached
Vultures make their daily circles
Life and death here seem mismatched

No time left to reconsider
Amends not made will never be
Deeds by now have been recorded
And posted to eternity

This reminds one that death looms arounds us always. Lovely description of death, portrayed simply with sad elements. Penned lovely with in depth meanings. Blessings to you, Cheers! :-)..

Very sad write. In my minds eye I could see family members arguing over things that they want. Or over whats been left to others. Death is sad, but also the catalysis for family feuds.
    Excellent write Anna
