No Life Without Death

by Cas   Mar 23, 2012

Ignorant from a still forming mind,
the child gently held a daisy
crippled and deformed
Death had already brought decay
A tear rolled down the child's face
"Oh, but why do flowers die?"
sincerely seeking reason
"Oh pure, beautiful flower
I wish you would last forever
Look to the heavens
and reach for the sun
Open up your gentle fist,
giving yourself away to the world"
But with death brings life,
With age, she will understand
Everything pure and good
that is natures gift
has to be taken away for times
so appreciation has place
For the absence of sorrow and death
would be the absence of joy and life
