Forgive us, Mother, for we know not what to do

by Karla   Mar 23, 2012

May The Goddess forgive us
when the buds begin to cry
because we can't decipher
the grammar of compassion,
the rituals of tolerance.

May The Goddess forgive us
when the oceans bleed
and our furry brothers die
to feed our ignorance and blindness.

May The Goddess forgive us
when our sisters trees are hurt
to serve our cheap whims
and empty egos before the cock
crows.

May The Goddess forgive us
for learning so little about
the mysteries and sacredness
of life.

May The Goddess forgive us
for our attachments, disconnections,
confusion and separateness.

May The Goddess forgive us
for saying the Name of Love
in vain.

Karla this is beautiful. It shows us how we're treating everything around us and we're asking mother nature to forgive us for it.

    I simply loved it

This poem has so much knowledge and wisdom to it, that it really captivates the reader. I have to admit that at times I am not keen with repetition but in this poem it felt right and like it belonged here.
I do hope too, that we will be forgiven for our actions.

Your magic has once again taken my breath with words so beautiful that they can't be praised. I enjoy your poems so much for they take me away from the normal place and transport me to a land where emotions live, and speak through the heart.
