Lunar Smiles

I've been sinking for awhile
and rain began to follow.
I felt sick and blue,
everything began to pursue.

I could not see the stars
I could not move at all.
The windows were bared
and the floors began to fall.

I thought the end was near
but it was just the beginning
and just like my fear,
quicksand was forming.

But now
better days have come
and I somehow
balance the sum.

The sun begins to shine
from clouds thick to fine
while rainbows say hello
and sprinkle a glow.

Swept like a feather
as everything's getting better,
shedding the sweater,
just putting myself together.

And like I said
I've been sinking for awhile
so it will take some time
before I begin to smile.
