Why I Dream in Emerald

by Poet on the Piano   Mar 31, 2012

I see the emerald eyes of Taurus
illuminate my idealistic mind....
and I contemplate the creature
I came to be.
Like a butterfly
I hide under a fragile set of wings,
preparing for a flight above
anything I've ever experienced.
But my wings are weak,
withdrawn, waiting....
for the security of meeting
and holding true, loyal love.

And at the same time,
I hold my heart in firm place
like a bull-
obstinate in skin
that is anxious, persistent
and loyal to the fight.

All this energy has a will,
a pursuit in my touch and sight
yet few perceive
the secrets I close behind.

I cannot forget what it means
to be among a happy world,
to understand the movement,
the music we ask of each other.

And I will linger
until my senses call me away.

Very clever this, start with Taurus and then mention a bull halfway. Links and ties the poem together well (I think knit was the word I was looking for!!!)
The first stanza suggests you wish you had the strength of the bull, yet you feel like a butterfly. Fragile. Are you contemplating the huge world of opportunity before you.
Knowing that you may have to find a few duds before you find your true love,
Then you find some inner strength , you realise your worth, your talent and feel stronger for it.
Another poem that finishes well, Your final lines always seem to linger in the mind.
