Metaphor In D Minor

by Maple Tree   Apr 1, 2012

I flew across midnight, as the blue moon cried,
no soul insight but my own, walking on stars alone.

Waiting long enough to breathe a little longer,
a firefly handed me daisy's upon a morning mist.

Sonnets are played upon ivory gazelle's in D-minor,
however, the Devil and Jesus wish not to sing in my home.

Confusion sets in and my brain takes a vacation-

I ran wild as a teenager in a daydream,
all alone, only stars and moon befriended me.

Growing older, I take life one day at a time,
experiencing true love with my husband, the firefly.

Music and nature guide my spiritual soul,
and that good time religion is only a myth.

Note: First three stanzas are metaphors-
last three stanzas are my interpretation of the first three lines.

I choose to write in my own way, allowing my creative imagination to go beyond the norm, I hope you enjoyed this odd piece- thank you for reading- Maple Tree
