Driftwood

by Maple Tree   Apr 2, 2012

I leave him often
abandoning a smile
for I am driftwood
floating silently
alone, in my thoughts
It's a somber moment,
but that river calls me
and a woman needs her peace
to collect those fallen tears,
so that she has the strength
to be there for her love
In his time of need....

Another very poignant verse, flowing from the sadness in one's life. Very moving that fills the readers cup with emotions broken lose as well.

Such a sound self-awareness. Knowing that one has to take a break sometimes that it's impossible to go on all the time. And if we truly want to be there for hte one we love when it really matters, then one has to take breaks sometimes.
    Great poem, loved it.
