Choice

by Something Diabolical   Apr 3, 2012

Longing and yearning, feelings inside
Slowly stopping, devouring my pride
Inside and out, I begin to betray
Bringing me deeper, into decay

Droplets of tears, found by the bed
Gradually sinking, into my head
Guilt is such. A powerful fear
Bringing an end, to all held dear

Time is racing, making me choose
Which one to keep, which one to lose
Decisions wailing, I cannot decide
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide

I hate that feeling of having to make a choice and for a few moments or a day you want to just escape the pondering questions in your head but there is literally no where to run or hide!....nice poem, I can relate especially right now with some decisions I have to make!

    Good job!

The rhymes were well penned, but there are some issues with the punctuation. This line for example:

    "Gradually sinking, into my head
Guilt is such. A powerful fear"
I suggest you remove the period. It'll flow much better..

"Time is racing, making me choose
Which one to keep, which one to lose"
I like this part. It's so relatable. Usually choices make you lose something you don't want to lose if you choose the wrong one.

    "Decisions wailing, I cannot decide
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide"
I really like these endings.. The reader is left to think what would happen next..

Overall, a really nice write. Keep writing :) 5/5
