For A Moment

by Deana   Apr 4, 2012

For A Moment

Stars lit the universe...
Like a thousand diamonds,
Scattered on the floor of heaven

You held me...and for a moment,
I was swept away,
with the summer breeze

Your eyes whispered words of love,
That came from the soul...
The silence was filled with yearning

You kissed me...and for a moment,
The world was on fire,
Raging out of control

One summer night, two hearts
a lifetime of memories,
to savor in the darkness

You loved me...and for a moment,
I thought it would last forever.

This was really beautiful. Such fantastic imagery and emotion that could move a mountain! I think most of us can relate to a person in our lives like this- I hope it wins :) Simply awesome!

    "For A Moment

    Stars lit the universe...

This is an amazing piece of poetry! Every line screams as though it's jumping out of the page, the metaphors you use are beyond brilliant, this is outstanding.

"You held me...and for a moment,
    I was swept away,
    with the summer breeze"

Isn't it amazing the impact another person can have on our lives, it brings a calmness that nothing else no matter how far you search, can imitate, love is unique, so is the power it gives our feelings.

"Your eyes whispered words of love,
    That came from the soul...
The silence was filled with yearning"

When you have a connection stronger than words, sometimes a single look will tell you everything you wish to know. The eyes of a lover are the gateway to truth about each other.

Overall this is a sweet sentiment of love. It's nice to see some people believe in it still, well written.
