Whats a girl to do?

Whats a girl to do in this messed up life?
Sometimes she thinks about pulling out the knife.
All the guys from her past, well they didnt last,
and only ended up leaving a stupid spell on her which was cast.

She drinks till she cant take it anymore,
leaving her more depressed, crying, till she falls asleep on the floor.
She took some of her moms addicting pills,
they didn't do much just gave her some chills.

This girl just wants to get rid of the pain,
shes tired, hurt, broken, and completely drained.
She goes to the kitchen and grabs a knife,
knowing this is the only way to end her strife.

One slice to the wrist, she feels the pain being released,
all the horrible voices in her heard, finally ceased.
She cries, not knowing what else to do,
this is the only thing, this is what helps her get through.

Whats a girl to do in this messed up life?
Sometimes she thinks about pulling out the knife.
She'll continue to go on for as long as she can and will try and remain true,
but as for now this whats a girl to do?

    This was a powerful poem, with a lot of raw emotion. I hope this isn't your own battle, but people do need to be aware of how many poeple go through this and end up making the wrong decision.

    Awesome poem! So very indepth with the emotions and turmoil brought about by the struggles so many of us face. Great depiction of the "hanging on by a thread" way of life we encounter when just trying to find our way!! Wonderful job!! Good luck and God bless!! :)

    Wow very good girl!!

    The rhyme was amazging and beautifully written darl
    It's so sad thou:/

    Such a sad stanza but still amazging
    Knowing that the knife is the only way of releasing her pain :/

    Interesting... A lot of people go through this emotional trial in life and seriously attempt and succeed in doing so or end up in a mental institution.. To me it expresses a side to those who have no voice and you spoke on how they feel.. Well written. 5/5 :)
