We all have experienced close minds at some point in our lives and the way you opened up your heart and revealed your secret and also embraced your heartfelt feelings just left me sitting here wanting to hug you.... I love this poem!!

I have to say that it takes a lot of courage to open up so much in a poem and I know that you have opened up in this one completely. It is very considerate of you and amazing that you feel that you were wrong to think a certain way and then try to change your way of thinking. It is lovely that you have apologised to your friends because I am sure that they appreciate your kind words and thoughts, also of course your friendship. I think when it comes to that sort of thing, what people don't know or understand scares them. I think because you got to know your friends more, you realised that them being gay doesn't change the fact that they can either be a good or bad person (depending on their personality). You can have a straight prick and an awesome gay friend or the other way around. Who they love doesn't make them who they are. I truly believe you have found this out on your own and I love what you have done with this poem. It is so open and beautiful.
