The girl in the mirror

by rock serenade   Apr 6, 2012

I'am facing that old mirror
A sad girl comes there
I wonder if she still feels the air
She's so pure and clear that I can see her heart
It bleeds no more since turning to stone
They tell her heart was made to learn loving
She says heart was made to be broken
They tell her what doesn't kill you makes you stronger
She says I can't go through this any longer
Sometimes I think I know her
Sometimes I whish I did
There are stories in her eyes
Sacrifice and goodbyes
There are tears on her cheeks
Words on her lips
Thorns on her weak flesh
But no blood in her face
I think time there in night
Where darkness covers and swallows the light
The girl holds a bloody knife in her hand
I think she's leaving to the endless land
When she's looking back at me
I can tell she's hurting inside........

"She's so pure and clear that I can see her heart

These lines stood out for me. So sad and the imagery was beautiful.

"There are tears on her cheeks
    Words on her lips
    Thorns on her weak flesh
But no blood in her face"
I love this stanza. I can easily picture a pale face, with tears on her cheeks and the longing to be heard..

Great write 5/5 :) Keep writing
