what will happen
If the sun had no moon
for it to chase each day

--- yup, I have wondered and I guess it will be sad and boring for the sun.

Well written piece, the above stanza was my favorite along with the ending.

Hmm..have never heard of a moonflower but from reading this it leaves me with awe for it holds a mystery of beauty which makes us want to explore more! A soft yet beautiful write to read :)

by the beauty of a moonflower
exotic and rare
ambrosial as an angel>"

^Such a magical scene is painted by your words.

"Our night skies will be
forever dark
for the starlight
is no surrogate for a
blooming moonshine."

^ This is such a good contrast to show the splendid and magical synergy.

I have to say David I was in awe reading this one!
I love the words and images you have used here, they are beautiful and magical I felt a sense of peace while reading this one. I think it's because I loveeeeeeeeeee the moon itself. It is gorgeous when it is a clear sky and all you see is the moon and stars surrounding it. I also love looking at the water when there is a moon just over it and you can see the water clearly. It reminds me of my holiday house in Wollongong where I have seen the moon do that a few times and I always end up speechless.

Awesome lines.
But "Moonflower!?!" Never heard of this but as the poem flows it really has a great impact on the poem.
May be, this is how rare or unique your love is!?
