Finding Smiley

by Mortal Utopia   Apr 7, 2012

Upon time, but only once, she dreamt
A dream that made her weep.
In her blanketed sanctuary, she dreamt
A dream, forever-haunting,
In her bosom it dwells and whispers
Soothing her heart's soft beating,

I thought I knew her, my friend,
But she flew - away, away!

Her vacation to dreamscape,
A voyage so far away,
The smiles she had there!
Shining with happiness so bare!
But wherefore shall she weep,
When she wakes from her sleep?

I, too, had a dream. I dreamt
Of me in my infant's gait,
When the world's a sun-beam,
When I was still embraced
By time, and space.

In that time, so far...away,
I had in mind, but one question:
Why, can Saddy never smile?
I thought of Saddy, then of Smiley,

But soon I heard,
One day, some day,
That they will die,
Away, away!

Yet,
How, can Smiley - so real -
Shining in that Smiley-way,
Wither and die?
Will Saddy give a smile
Before she twirls away?

But I thought I knew,
That death was,
But a Lie,
For when I look,
At SaddyandSmiley,
I knew they will never go away,

But she - my good old friend!
Dreamt of a utopia,
Where Saddy turns to Smiley,
Where Smiley makes Saddy laugh,
There, no one's left alone,
No one's left to moan,

Saddy! Weep out your sorrows, for I,
The haunted ghost of dreams,
Will weep with you!
I, transparent as I am,
Will sprinkle your dreams with lame jokes,
So, if you find a Smiley in your heart,
Hold its hands,
And dance your way round!

And I, as ghostly as I am,
May feel a bit more real.
